Police in Manikganj district town have rescued a young woman following allegations that she was forcibly subjected to sexual exploitation under the cover of a beauty parlor. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid on Saturday night and detained several individuals. A case has since been filed under charges related to rape and violence against women.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident: Ratna Yasmin (40), the owner of the beauty parlor; her son, Md. Tushar Rahman (24); and another woman, Taznin Akter, also known as Chandni (23). Two additional individuals named in the case reportedly fled the scene upon sensing the presence of police. The rescued woman was taken to the Manikganj 250-bed General Hospital for medical treatment.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the beauty parlor had allegedly been operating as a site of sexual exploitation for an extended period. The survivor had been working at the parlor, where the owner and associates allegedly forced her into sexual acts. The FIR further states that when the survivor’s younger sister recently visited her home, the accused proposed forcing the sister into sexual acts as well. The survivor refused the demand.

The FIR states that following her refusal, the accused allegedly assaulted her and forcibly took her to the beauty parlor around 1:00 AM. There, she was reportedly beaten, restrained, and subjected to further violence. Police confirmed that the survivor later filed a case naming five individuals as accused under charges of rape and violence against women.

Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, said that three suspects have been arrested so far and operations are ongoing to locate and detain the remaining accused.
