Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from in front of a shop near Laboni Point on the Cox’s Bazar sea beach in the early hours of May 6. The body was found around 3:00 AM in an area adjacent to the Tourism Corporation’s Laboni Hotel.
According to local business owners, the woman’s body was discovered lying in front of a beachside shop, after which police were informed. Law enforcement officers later arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
As of the following day, authorities had not yet been able to establish the woman’s identity. Local shop owners speculated that she may have been a tourist visiting the area before her body was abandoned near the beach.
Police stated that the body was sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Officials said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and cause of death.
