A case has been filed against two neighbors accused of raping a six-year-old girl in Fatulla, Sadar Upazila of Narayanganj. One of the accused, Sohel (22), has been arrested and sent to jail through the court. The other accused, Hiro, was injured in a mob beating and is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The child’s mother filed the case under the Women and Children Abuse Act, demanding the death penalty for the accused. She stated that she wants the perpetrators to be punished severely to prevent such brutal acts in the future. The administration has assured the family of justice and legal assistance ¹.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when the child was tricked by the two youths while playing near her house. The family took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after learning about the assault. The police arrested Sohel and are investigating the case with utmost importance.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Raihan Kabir and Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman Munshi visited the child’s family to assure them of support. The child’s medical examination has been completed, and a report will be submitted soon.
