Ten women, men, and children allegedly pushed toward Bangladesh through the Benapole border in Jashore remained stranded at the India-Bangladesh zero line for a second consecutive day after a flag meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) failed to reach a resolution.

According to BGB officials, the group has been staying under a tree near the Sadipur field area along the border since Sunday night after repeated attempts by the BSF to push them into Bangladesh were allegedly blocked by Bangladeshi border forces. Officials stated that the stranded individuals were suffering from fear, hunger, and deteriorating physical conditions while remaining trapped at the zero line.

BGB sources stated that on Saturday evening, the BSF reportedly brought around 120 people toward the border in several trucks accompanied by additional forces. Attempts were allegedly made throughout the night to push groups of people across different border points near the Sadipur-Raghunathpur area in Sharsha upazila. BGB personnel said they obstructed multiple attempts after detecting movements near the barbed-wire gates and border fencing.

Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, commander of the 49 BGB Battalion in Jashore, confirmed that a flag meeting between BGB and BSF officials had taken place on Monday evening but ended without a solution. The ten individuals remain inside Indian territory near the border fence.

Following the incident, BGB reportedly increased patrols and security measures across the Benapole border area. Announcements were also made in nearby villages to raise public awareness regarding the situation.
