A member of the 25th BCS (Administration) cadre, Khanam began her career in 2006 as an Assistant Commissioner in Rajshahi. Over the years, she has held administrative roles across multiple districts, including Rangpur, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Shariatpur, Tangail, Feni, and Noakhali. Her experience includes serving as Assistant Commissioner (Land) and as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Daganbhuiyan (Feni) and Begumganj (Noakhali), where she was responsible for local governance and development oversight.
Khanam has also worked in several key government departments on deputation, including the Department of Women Affairs, the Bangladesh Tariff Commission, and the Department of Land Records and Surveys. Her appointment brings extensive field-level administrative experience to one of the country’s most significant district positions.
